Computer Screen Goes Black Then Comes Back
Posted : admin On 04.11.2019Jan 20, 2012 - Ok the Problem is i can be doing things fine on my pc then for some really odd reason it freezes goes black then comes back like nothing. I need some help. While playing City of Heroes, or City of Villains, my screen will go black, like its going to the screensaver, then come back, but the image is still that of the game i was playing, but its all fuzzy and distorted, and the whole system has frozen up.
Good evening, brettxw. So let me get this straight before we proceed.Your monitor goes black after being used for only a bit of time. You have replaced the power cord which has not helped. In addition, you have taken your PC out of the equation by using another screen as a monitor - no problems are experienced. If this is true then you have found the troublemaker. Sounds like the monitor is going bad. Is it a flat panel LCD or a bulky CRT monitor?
How old is the monitor? You have done well by performing troubleshooting thus far. Let's tie some loose ends.Look forward to the response. Thanks for helping. It goes black with in a second. It shows faintly then the next second black.Yes, replaced the power cord and hooked to another PC and still does it.
It is a 22' DCLCD monitor. Got it about 4 yrears ago.Could it be the VGA cable. Or whatever it is called?Good evening, brettxw. So let me get this straight before we proceed.Your monitor goes black after being used for only a bit of time. However, if that cable worked when you plugged in the other monitor then it is extremely unlikely that this is the cause. It sounds like the backlight within the LCD is about to die. I have encountered a few which did the same thing as you explain. The LCD seems fine for a minute and then goes black or displays very faint, dark text and images.Sadly if your LCD is four years old it is probably out of warranty coverage. If you have plugged in a different monitor than the one giving you problems and everything is fine, then that tells you that there is something wrong with the monitor.
I personally think it has hardware failure. Sorry friend, my suggestion is to purchase another as repair would cost you more than the hardware is worth. I never like to recommend spending money but I think it's your only option in this case. You have ruled everything else out and it looks like the LCD is your issue. Please let me know if you have any further questions or if you would like me to clarify anything.Good luck!

HI guys.My systems specs W7 Ultimate 64 bit. Service Pack 1I.B.
Firefox 5.0Nvidia 560 GeForce Ti 1250 GB (driver 280.26 & PhysX9.11.0621)Intel i7 2600K 3.40GHz.8.00 GB mem.ramMonitor SyncMaster Samsung 23 ' 2343BW.P.U. OC 1250 Wtts.Gygabyte mobo GA-P67A-UD4-B3And beforehand thanks for help and pointing me in the right direction and pls. Forgive my ignorance about this.My trouble is that when I'm browsing the Internet. Suddenly my screen goes Black!
No cursor and no sound. But the system Don't shuts down! The computer still's on and then for a bout 3 to 5 seconds the desktop returnsThis just happens when I'm using the Internet Firefox, not with Autocad, Photoshop or my Games.I have set that the monitor to not to go to sleep and save power for after an Hour. If it's idle.and when I'm browsing I'm constantly moving the mouse so there's no reason to have a screen like that in that sense. What other think could be the cause this behaviorThansk for helpToti. HIkhatikbbdn72!Guess you are right in that sense.But. I did already Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. But, The only thing was when I was uninstalling Firefox, a window poped out and asked me if I wanted to uninstall the personal layouts and cookies, logins, add-ons. And I choose.
Monitor Goes Blank Periodically
No.So when reinstalling Firefox 5.0 I didn't loose my preferences and plug ins.and Maybe that was not so good idea.maybe I should it said.Yes. And start fresh. The monitor still it's doing it again.and it doesn't have a pattern time. It's just sometimes.like out of the blue.Bang BSOD!! But as it comes it goes by itself. The System don't shuts down, it's ON during and after the BSOD but monitor goes BLACK.?So maybe I would try Start all fresh again with the uninstaller and save my Bookmarks and try test again. At least seems that is not the hardware. It looks more like a Bug in Firefox.never had it before. If you are viewing the world of internet through other browser in normal way, and doing other opeartion like games and softwares(which you mentioned in your previous post) then harware problem is absolutely out of question.why don't you a give a try with other browser like google corme, opera, and even internet explorer(works good on windows machiene).as far as firefox is concerned, it might be the case of add-ons, and plugin, you may give several hit and try by installing and un-installing them to clearly figure out the bug.
