I've been wondering about that for a while - even got a.22 airgun barrel blank. It seems that I'll need to do some considerable work on my pistol for that to happen, maybe re-construct the entire front half. The way I see it, the.22 barrel isn't going to fit in there. Not by a long shot. Maybe if I get a.20 one and do some trimming.Anyway. I don't expect the conversion to be easy business. The valve is designed to give off a blast of CO2 enough for a.177.

A.20 pellet will go a little slower, but the weight difference isn't that huge. With the current valve, I don't extepct.22 pellets to go faster than, say, 200fps. So I need a new valve, apparently. I was thinking of getting a replacement valve for the 2210 pistol, but I have no idea whether those two are even compatible! Is there any way to modify the existing valve without ruining it?Now, for the clips. I doubt that I'll manage to get them to index properly, and the pellet clips will be destroyed if I ream them to.22 diameter - tried that one.

Reaming them to.20 diameter seems to work though. For the.22 it seems I'll need to either make new ones from scratch or.? I suppose modding the BB clips is going to work?Anyway, that's that.

I have some knowledge of the Vigilante's internals, so I know how to pull it apart so as to not fuck it up - hell, after five years of nearly daily shooting, something was bound to break (leaking). I'm not even considering the.20 that much, what with availability and general decline of popularity. I also have a general, well, generally rough, plan in my mind as to how I'll do it. But I don't know if someone else has already done it, so I won't need to re-discover an all-new way of doing it.So anyway. Any thoughts?edited - clarification. So, suggest one!You assume I live at a place where the Crosman Vigilante/.357/whatever costs 60$. Well, I don't.

I got the Vigilante for 95€, and it was the cheapest I could find it - the.357/6 went for about 80€ but I got wind of it later. And I don't want a target pistol right now.I could get the Crosman 2210 for a mere. 10€ more, but I hated the feel of it from the time I picked up this plastic excuse of an airgun - I don't want to have something that I feel I'll break if I squeeze it too tightly. And I can't find any pistols - at that price range - in.22 save for single-shots.

And the Crosman 1322 - which I bought - but I get tired of pumping and I just don't like single shot pistols! If I want to 'value my shots' I'll get a rifle with more 'umph'. Why do I want a.22? I used to live in Cyprus, where all you can get is 4.5mm. No power limitation, no full-autos or silencers. I've been shooting CO2 and pre-charged pneumatic pistols for all the time I've got shooter's ID (meaning a member of a club). And I'm fed up with 4.5mm. They are fiddly to load for someone with relatively thick fingers like me, zippy, and tend to overpenetrate.

1377

So when I movd in Greece and found out I can get any bloody airgun I want - unless it's full-auto or silenced - I got a Crosman 1322. Just to have one. Because I can own it.That's the reason I want a.22!

For fun. The difficulty in this case is that this air pistol is not available in.22, so you're not likely to find off-the-shelf parts for this conversion. I believe the rotary magazines used by this air pistol are proprietary.

You probably can't just order a replacement.22 barrel for the Vigilante-it's not the sort of barrel out can easily swap out, whereas with the 1377, 1322, 2240, etc. The parts are somewhat interchangeable.I'm not aware of anyone who has done this conversion, but it seems like it would be a very challenging conversion. I see a lot of possible problems, first off is barrel alignment, unless you can be absolutely sure the barrel is lined up with the pellet it will shave lead.

There is also the possibility that the current barrel has a forcing cone like a real revolver, probably less critical here, i.e. No chance of the air gun blowing up, but it would affect it's ability to fire properly and consistently and again shave lead unless it is done correctly. Another issue is just reaming the old clips, unless you are able to be absolutely sure the hole you make is concentric with the previous hole you may as well stop before you try messing with the barrel. Simply put this air gun isn't worth the hassle to mod, there is just too much that has to be done and the materials are not strong enough to be worth messing with.

There is a reason you aren't finding much information on this mod.

Hi Everybody,I just joined this forum and I have had a 1377 pistol for a couple years now that I just got back into shootingand I want to mod it a little bit and convert it to.22 cal to be more effective for hunting. My question: Is the 1377 and 1322 identical besides the bolt, breech and barrel? In other words, could I just order a 1322 barrel and a 1322 steel breech and put them on my 1377?Also another question: What would you guys recommend for a good red dot sight that is fairly cheap but works well?I have heard the BSA 30mm is a good one. Is this true? Thanks,Greg.
