Fallout New Vegas Crafting Guide
Posted : admin On 26.09.2019Aug 10, 2013 Welcome to my Fallout: New Vegas guide and before we start it will be important to state that this is more of a beginners guide rather than to make a perfect character. There are some miscellaneous tips to note before we start; don't anger the NCR or Caesar's Legion before you reach New Vegas. May 23, 2019 Allows the player to break down most items into the base components of Fallout 4 and 76 (eg, steel, wood). These components can the be used to craft a large variety of items, including most non unique weapons and armors. Many of these new recipes require schematics, which can be found throughout the world.

Fallout New Vegas Crafting Recipes
I played fallout on xbox a while ago, and now I'm getting back into it on pc. Should I bother with hoarding shit? Or should I keep it minimal and sell all the junk I know I won't need? Because I remember I would keep things that I may need (such as scrap metal or food ingredients) but then I never even bothered using them. With aid, i usually just use purified water or stimpacks over and over again and sell all the other junk.
Should I bother learning how to craft things or how to make ammo with the workbenches? It seems like looking for and holding onto specific components is more hassle than it's worth. And should I hold onto things I think will be useful in the future that I'll need for quests? I remember there was some unmarked quest where you needed tons of materials (scrap metal, pilot lights, etc), and it would be convenient if I had a stash, but at the same time it might not even be worth it.Thanks!. I am a stimpack addict and they are one of the few things for which I use a workbench. Other than that, because I am a recent user of Energy weapons, I also convert different types of Energy Cells to what I need, specifically. Last but not least, I collect ridiculous amounts of 'scrap electronics' in order to make Stealth Boys after I have received the recipe from Lily.As I am more of a straight forward player, I tend to believe that all of the recipes and stuff that you can make at a Workbench or at a Campfire are more useful for the actively role players that want to feel more immersed in the game. And regarding the quests, as far as I remember there might be some side quests that involved junk, but there are not too many, so leave the Abraxo Cleaner behind when you loot things. Hmm, i see, thank you.are you given all crafting recipes?
And you have required skill levels for crafting some things, right? (cooking = survival. Something = repair.?) I can always look this up on the wiki if its too much trouble:pSo you would recommend being somewhat active in crafting?and I'm guessing I should try to commit recipe ingredients to memory? I'm sure after I put some effort into it I can remember what it takes to make stimpacks etc, but right now I'm feeling lazy, lol.
I never used to craft anything, but after getting rich enough to buy 1000+ rounds of whatever ammo I chose, on my latest playthrough (all DLC), I have found that breaking down all my standard ammo and remaking it as Match (no downsides with this ammo at all!) or JSP (increased wear, increased damage though!) has been quite helpful.I don't actively aim to make any food or chems really, beyond Brahmin or Bighorner steaks (hunting near Red Rock Canyon or Grub 'n Gulp with the COS Silencer rifle is my thing, lets me take down entire herds within a very small area, with minimal walking! I don't go specifically to hunt, but if I am in the area I shoot a few just to pass the time.), but if I can make a chem (except rushing water, I've had the option to make that available for a while, I don't need any more at the moment!) when I open up the campfire menu, I generally will (once in a while I find I can make a desert salad or something!)I did used to make Auto-inject stimpacks but now I am not so sure, as I have the X-13 armour from OWB which does that for me. And if I'm not in that armour (unlikely, I have 'The Legacy of X-13' added so it's upgraded to Mk3, stealth field!) I have enough auto-inject stimpacks to get myself to somewhere safer (ish) usually. There are a few reasons to get into crafting.Support your ammo needs.
With Handloader (new recipes for gun ammo) or Vigilant Recycler (new recipes for energy weapon ammo), you can supply yourself with a lot of firepower. And if you had Lonesome Road, ED-E allows you to make ammo in the field with his loading bench and workbench. The empty ammo (casings, drained energy) weigh nothing, so you really just need to schlep some powder/lead or fission batteries and you can keep yourself going on the road.Weapon Repair Kits. Allow you to keep weapons in good shape without using any duplicate weapon to scrap for parts (doing r)epair in the weapon inventory).
WRKs are also cheaper than the weapons you'd destroy to repair another weapon, so it's economical.Stuff produced from survival or medicine can be really helpful. Cure poisons caused by cazadores. Repair limb damage without an expensive or sometimes rare doctor's bag (assuming you're hardcore). Plus food for hardcore nutrition needs. And you can heal very effectively from food. That said, it's probably impractical to have every crafting skill as a priority.
I had repair pegged and picked up handloader to produce a reliable source of bonus damage ammo on the cheap. I ignored survival and occasionally just use magazines to boost my skill so I can turn a pile of steaks into good food (since I play hardcore).
I also ignored medicine, this go around. So, a lot of it is contextual. Do you play hardcore? Does it fit your character's build or roleplay? Would you rather say fuck it and just focus on damage by other means and use basic ammo you can buy or loot? Also, even though I'm not survival, I still pick plants and stuff if they're in my way. I won't go out of my way for them, but I can use a magazine to turn a crude stockpile into quite a few useful items.
Crafting is alot of fun once you know what you are doingI store (hoarder!) everything in the Old World Blues chests right beside the crafting tables. When I want to make stuff I lcick the table, find the recipe, then back out and grab the ingredients from the nearby chests. OWB is great because the Sink NPCs give you the specific items you need to make so much good stuff - the clipboards/books breakdown into glue, metal, and blank books, which then make skill books. The biology lab makes tons of plants, which you then turn into salient greens, which you can turn at no cost into any other plant.
This allows endless stimpak production, the muggy guy makes you empty needles. The only gated item needed to make your ammo is Powder, which I can find in bulk at the Gun Runners Kiosk, so ammo is limitless. Weapon kits and doctor bags rock. I make black coffee and caravan lunches in stacks. All the drugs are craftable so Im on a Hunter S thompson drug frenzy all the time.
Rushing Water and Weapon Binding Ritual allow my katana to cut through Legion assassin squads in seconds with minimal damage to me:D Collecting recipes is a fun diversion too.
