As of now, the only thing I need to do is farm more Riechliu skulls and 5 more Limoancy. At the moment doing Act 3 NG+3 and its a breeze. Also I currently have the clockwork legendary claw and bonewedge pry legendary, two sockets each. As soon as I reach my caps, I can socket those with damage, correct?

Good to see Sacred 2 get mentioned. It's definitely one of my favorites largely because it deviates enough from the standard D2 mold to be interesting and unique while staying true to the genre. I also love how huge the world feels (because it IS huge).My only gripe with it (and PoE) is how much planning you need to do before you set out.

Sacred 2's size actually just wore me down in the end. I'd inadvertently stumbled on a god-like super-op'd build and stomped my way through 2 thirds of the game without even coming close to dying when i finally just got bored, never played it again.i'm also maybe a little bit sour due to losing my first character when the game (ps3) crashed during a trade and blacklisted that character for 'attempted cheating'.
I might go back to it one day though.i've gone into POE semi-blind, doing a little reading and got four characters on the go to try different things and so far it's reasonably working out. We'll see on the harder difficulties but the one thing I didn't want to do was jump into the game with my first build being something i copied off the internet, and so far i'm not regretting anything. Yeah Sacred 2 has a truly massive map and it takes to some dedication to complete.Just putting things into perspectiveThis small portion of the map to fill in took me almost two hours (filling in all of the map to the colored portion, doing every possible quest in that one small area.)Just to put into perspective how ridiculously large the world isHere is the full world map in comparison for a tiny island that took me nearly 2 hours to completeI can't imagine how long it will take for me to fill in the entire world to completion, doing all 600 or so quests. Getting to level 216, etc.For the completionist types, it can be huge undertaking. I can see how some people get tired of it. No Dungeon Siege loveDS2 was one of the best lootfest experiences i have had that wasn't named Diablo. I think it holds up well enough still.
DS3 was ok, but it lacked the customizability of the previous games.I feel like DS2 especially nailed the customizability aspect of these types of games. And it worked in such a way that not only were you defining your characters build with a number of options (and these were class builds that weren't limited, i.e. Creating a ranger that could also specialize in combat magic, but you were complimenting your main character with NPCs you can pick up along the way (and further define there builds). And in my opinion, it had one of the better loot systems as well.With that said, ignoring the obvious modern choices int his thread (Titan Quest, PoE, Torchlight 2 and D3) I think Dungeon Siege 2 is a nice option, and I am pretty sure if can be picked up fairly cheaply.
Played D3 for about 400 hours. The loot system is just straight up broken, but the combat is amazing. Very responsive and visceral.PoE has a ton of potential but I got spoiled by the polish in D3. Little quibbles like no option to toggle show items on the ground (which results in my alt-tabbing out a lot unintentionally) and the fact that skills aren't infinitely respec-able (some will disgree with me on this, but I just think its stupid to create 5 of the same classes just to test out different specs).But, I think PoE needs a bit more polish and I'd absolutely love it. Does anyone know if the game code is pretty much locked down or are major changes still possible for future releases?

Put tons of time into allD3 - Good presentation. Attacks are flashy and great see of feedback.
Held back by loot and by loot determining builds. Too much grind and blind luck later though somewhat rectified now and should be fixed after AH fucks off.TL2 - Great music. Starts really slow and I fucking hate the fumble shit they have in it. Presentation is awesome though and I like the random maps later. Love the pet.PoE - my overall favourite. Why bitch about builds?
If you really want, you can grind for orbs of regret. Graphics are kinda bleh, but customization blows the others out of the water. Your items, passives, and gems combine for so many builds that experimenting is part of the fun.Grim Dawn - I know it's in alpha but what I played was very very rough and kinda boring. They have time to turn it around, but it needs a graphical overhaul and needs lots of clean up.
Not as simple and fun as D3 and not as deep as PoE.TQ2 - This got me back into the arpg genre after so many failed franchises. It can get repetitive but I loved the world and the classes and the mixing and matching. I kinda wish I had played through the expansion but I got burnt out on it. D3 is great, but.You reach the end game too soon and then you're left with a shitty LOT system that practically speaking makes a boss useless.They had plenty of ways to make this fun, the gameplay was good though class balance is soso, with some class being nerfed to oblivion.Torchlight2 is the more balanced: graphics is cartoonish, gameplay is good,etcPoe.
Played too little.Fun fact about d3.Since it's from blizzard i expected they would base everything on looks.Instead. There's just ONE end game set per class that adds an unique look and mostly you'll NOT be using it, since offset are usually so much stronger you'll just laugh.Es in the middle of d3 lifeline you'd see andariel visage everywhere and vile guard on everyone.Now it's mempo on headslot and crafted shoulder boa on every char. Long-ish post incoming:I have only recently started to get into action RPGs, so I have never played D2, or titan quest. I can only make a comparison between TL2 and PoE, because I'm not shelling 40€ for D3 (goddamn blizzard and their pricings).What I like about TL2: it's offline, has a very meaty and satisfying combat. You know you did something right when you make monsters explode with an axe blow.
It's also a very lightweight game that I can play on my lame ass laptop, although I usually play these games while watching videos on youtube, and said laptop can't do both. I also like the fact that the maps have a number of secrets and randomized quests. Also, the pet is useful in many ways.What I don't like: the loot. One could say it's balanced, but the other side of the coin is that is boring, for the most part.At level 50 I struggled to find anything better that the stuff I had at level 20, and the uniques are not much better, as they often just give stats other items have. Nothing special about them, even the ones that can be upgraded by killing x monsters; the most interesting ones only trigger certain spells randomly. Set bonuses are more interesting but complete sets are so hard to get it's not really a factor.Also, the story, setting and music are really nothing to write home about, you can basically skip every dialogue and play in mute.What I like about PoE: Well it's basically the opposite of TL2: great setting, ok story, music you might actually want to listen to, unique items that actually change the way you play and a way to manage white loot that forces you to consider whether to leave a white on the ground or not. Also, dat skill tree.What I don't like: It's online, and the netcode is made so that you need a stupid fast connection to make it work properly, or be so lucky as to live close to a server.
Too many people died because of desync, and coming from TL2 watching your arrows hit 1 second after they struck is really jarring, especially if you don't know whether you actually did damage or not. In general, I feel like GGG made some unhappy decisions with their coding: why does the game need to check resources every time there's a 10MB update?
Why do I need a fan made program to shorten load times to an acceptable level? Why isn't the login screen at a locked framerate when the rest of the game is? I feel they should actually take some time to release a buy to play offline version, I would appreciate it a lot.In short: both enjoyable, but both have problems of their own. I haven't explored the modding scene for TL2 so I don't know if it fixes the problem I have with the loot.I apologize for the eventual errors I made in my post.
