Hey,I'm new here, so please excuse any noob questions.Anyway, I recently purchased a TDK Life on Record turntable. I know this is an entry level turntable, however. I do believe I'm hearing a slight fault in the speed. It isn't very noticeable in say, punk etc. Crash bandicoot n sane trilogy pc.

But when songs have piano parts or strings, it sounds oddly and slightly out of tune. A little 'queasy' if you like. Most recently I noticed Radio 4 on PiL's Metal Box was almost unlistenable (I know plenty out there would say that about the entire album, but you know what I mean). Some piano parts on the quieter songs on White Stripes White Blood Cells and the more laid back tracks on Neil Young's Zuma spring to mind.At first I thought I was imagining it, but I've checked with CD versions of the various songs and it's definitely there.Could it be a faulty/stretched belt? I have contacted TDK support but I was told they'd never heard of such a problem.Any thoughts? I feel it's probably the belt, but if anyone else has any theories, I'd be more than happy to hear them.ThanksAaron. When present, it seems to be worse approaching the end of a side, often side two, but not exclusively. Often on sustained piano or string parts.I have seen this mentioned elsewhere online. I just googled 'Off-center records'.According to what others say, it does exist in older records, but it seems more common in newer reissues.

I was quite shocked by this (considering the price) and then I realised that yes, most of my records (but not all, an old copy of Transformer is very bad) affected are new.
